Rogue Touch is based on my fond memories of the Atari ST and Amiga versions of Rogue that I played in the mid 1980s. Its clever design continues to influence the game world 30+ years later... Dungeon crawlers of all sorts- Diablo, Shiren the Wanderer, and even Pokemon Mystery Dungeon owe much to Rogue, the grandfather of all roguelikes!
History:
Rogue was originally conceived by Michael Toy, Glenn Wichman, and Ken Arnold as an ASCII based adventure game in 1980. Since then it has been ported to virtually every computer and video game system imaginable. Rogue Touch was first released in February 2009. It is based on several variants of the original Rogue, but written from the ground up to take advantage of the touch screen and graphics capabilities of the iPhone.
